A Sense of Peace

 Week beginning 10th May 2020

Hello Dear Friends

We are at the start of another week, and awaiting news from the Government about what activities may be un-locked for everyone.

I don’t know about you but I have found a lack of stress and a new sense of peace and rest through this lockdown. As well as engaging in some crafty activities that I have wanted to do for a long time.

My daily writing-out of the Psalms is especially helpful, as all that we experience, all the highs and lows, the anger, frustration as well as the gladness, happiness and peace are what King David has experienced. David is so very honest, he is very willing to apparently “shout” at God in anger and frustration, and by contrast to see beauty around him which causes him to sing God’s praises.

Psalm 36:5-10

“Your unfailing love, O Lord, is as vast as the heavens,

your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds.

Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains,

your justice like the ocean depths.

You care for people and animals alike, O Lord.

How precious is your unfailing love, O God!

All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of your wings.

You feed them from the abundance of your own house letting them drink from your river of delights.

For you are the fountain of life; the light by which we see.

Pour out your unfailing love on those who love you;

give justice to those with honest hearts.”

There is so much we need to cling on to that we read in this passage.

The author Sarah Young in Jesus Calling feels that God is saying this:

“I AM A GOD of both intricate detail and overflowing abundance. When you entrust the details of your life to Me, you are surprised by how thoroughly I answer your petitions.

I take pleasure in hearing your prayers, so feel free to bring Me all your requests.

The more you pray, the more answers you can receive.

Best of all, your faith is strengthened as you see how precisely I respond to your specific prayers.

Because I am infinite in all My ways, you need not fear that I will run out of resources.

Abundanceis at the very heart of who I AM.

Come to Me in joyful expectation of receiving all you need—and

sometimes much more!

I delight in showering blessings on My beloved children.

Come to Me with open hands and heart, ready to receive all I have for you.”

And in Psalm 37 verses 3 to 7 there are more words for each one of us to use daily:

“Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.

Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you your hearts desires.

Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust Him, and He will help you.

He will make your innocence radiate life the dawn, and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun.

Be still in the presence of the Lord and wait patiently for Him to act.”

How are you “trusting in the Lord”?

What have you learned?

Drop me an email with your experiences over the recent weeks.
